Simon's Town is a historical Naval base, the dockyard is interesting being in current use, the marina is colourful and from the harbour there is access to harbour tours, whale and dolphin watching, kayaking, trips to seal island and river taxis. In the village are congenial coffee shops, delicious bakeries, restaurants of many cuisines, clothes boutiques, and curio shops. Also professional art galleries and 4 museums. Simon's Town station has a picturesque rail link along the coast to Muizenberg and inland to Cape Town city. In the area around, you will find a huge variety of activities to enjoy:

• Many sandy beaches,within 10-30 minutes drive, some of which offer surfing or body surfing, and all have safe swimming areas
